A Day in My Life – Friday

I meant to get this posted on Saturday, but we were swamped as usual, so I’m finally getting it up. This is a pictorial Day in My Life that I took this past Friday. Enjoy! =-)

Photobucket
Here I am, all ready to do my errands for the day. The boys and I are about to go meet Marty for lunch.

Photobucket
Now we have arrived at Marty’s shop.

Photobucket
We had to wait a little while, so Colt did a little reading.

Photobucket
Here’s Marty, we’re ready now to go to the grocery store and then to lunch

Photobucket
We stop at David’s to get some money for lunch.

Photobucket
While there, Marty takes a sniff of a pineapple, we usually buy some fruit each Friday.

Photobucket
We arrive at Pizza Inn for lunch, doesn’t the buffet look good!

Photobucket
Riley chows down on some pizza.

Photobucket
Colt with a mouthful!

Photobucket
I’m done eating, now I’m waiting on my fellas with hollow legs to finish up.

Photobucket
This stack of plates and pizza crusts belong to Marty and Colt!

Photobucket
We stop to get gas, Marty fill the car up for me =-)

Photobucket
The gas prices at the store we stopped at.

Photobucket
We take Marty back to work, he’ll be getting off for the day at around 2:30, Riley falls asleep on the way.

Photobucket
I go back to town and take a visit to the post office to mail some Book Mooch and Paperback Swap books.

Photobucket
Our next stop in the library. Riley’s awake now

Photobucket
Riley takes a peek into the library

Photobucket
Riley and Colt make their library selections and sit down to read while I finish up looking for the books we need for homeschool and my own personal reading.

Photobucket
We pick Marty up from work and then head home for a little bit. The leaves are starting to turn, so fall must be just around the corner!

Photobucket
We take a walk in the pasture where we find some buffalo gourds

Photobucket
We also find a patch of passion flowers

Photobucket
Back at the house I take a picture of Marty with a stick in his hair..lol!

Photobucket
Then Marty takes a picture of me =-)

Photobucket
We left the house around 4:00 and headed to Waco to run some errands. Our first stop was the Goodwill Store.

Photobucket
Marty found a stainless steel platter to use for when he’s grilling and Colt found 2 books.

Photobucket
Our next stop was a little hunting store called “The Outhouse”. Riley likes playing with the hunting targets.

Photobucket
AFter the hunting store we stopped at Mardel’s (no pictures) and then went to Lowe’s to get some roofing shingles to repair a couple of leaks in our roof.

Photobucket
Marty loads the shingles in the back of the Suburban. The boxes in the back are some gallon pickle jars we got from freecycling.

Photobucket
After Lowe’s we were all hungry, so we stopped at Ryan’s for dinner.

After Ryan’s we stopped at Walmart for a few things and then came home to watch a movie. That was my Friday!

Glimpses of Our Homeschool Day – Bible Study Edition

Here are some pictures of the boys I took today while they were working on their Bible homeschool lessons.

Photobucket
Riley is coloring pieces of Joseph’s coat of many colors. Each piece has a part of a Bible verse on them. WE then cut them out and put them in the correct order and glued them to the Joseph picture.

This is a picture of Colt reading his Bible.

This is a short video of Riley reciting his Bible Memory verse.

Neat Photography Trick

This is from Family Fun Magazine

Just cover your camera’s flash with a colored sticky note. Any photos taken with the flash will take on the hue of the paper. The effect is extra strange when there’s another light source in the photo.

Here are some pictures I’ve taken using this trick…

Susan’s Crocheted Wash Cloth

Here is a pattern that I use all the time to make dish cloths. It’s quick and easy and oh so pretty!

Susan’s Wash Rag

2 colors Cotton yarn of choice (I used Peaches & Cream)
1 for main color and 1 for trim
Size H crochet hook

With main color, Ch 21

Row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Row 2-13: Ch 2, turn and hdc in each st across, repeat

Tie off main color

Round 1: slst into any corner, ch 2. 2 hdc in same stitch (forms corner). hdc in each stitch (top and bottom) and hdc 18 evenly down each side, doing 3 hdc in each corner. slst to top of begining ch 2.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the back loops throughout this round. Work 1 sc in each stitch, 3 sc in each corner. slst to top of beginning ch 1.

Round 3: sc in the same place you just slst, * ch 3, sc in next st*, repeat until you reach the last stitch, ch 3 and sc into last stitch, slst to beginning sc.

Weave in ends

Hope this make sense!
