Making Hand Milled Soap for Fun & Profit

Available on Kindle, Nook and as a PDF

Hand-milled soap, in a nutshell, is just unscented, premade soap that has been reprocessed to add scent and other ingredients. This is an excellent craft for the beginner soap maker, as it does not require the use of lye. You can use any premade soap that is unscented. If you do make your own soap, it is a great way to scent it and mold it. Doing it that way allows you to make big batches of basic unscented soap that you can easily hand-mill at a later date. It gives you a little more freedom to try new scents, liquid and dry additives. Hand-milled soap is harder and lasts longer than other soaps because the soap flakes have been compressed into each other. Also scents and additives retain their value better with hand-milled soap. It is also easier for the beginner soap maker as well as fun!

“Making Hand Milled Soap For Fun &  Profit”  includes detailed instructions and 52 recipes to teach you how to make your own designer soaps at home! Plus tips on making a profit selling them!

What People are Saying About MAKING HAND MILLED SOAP FOR FUN & PROFIT!

This book walks readers through how to make soaps with scents and other things added. It does not teach how to make the soap itself, but rather how to make all sorts of specialty soaps by starting with ready, unscented soap. The plethora of recipes is incredible, yet none of the needed ingredients is overly exotic or pricey. For anyone wanting to give soap making a try as a hobby, there are many tips on how to get started with inexpensive and readily available ingredients.

For those looking to market their soap for profit, a list is included of ideas to do just that. Most of the suggestions were completely new to me, and sounded doable as well as effective.

As the title suggests, this book both makes soap making fun and understandable, as well as provide many ideas and recipes for those looking to start a for-profit business.

Would definitely recommend!

============================================

This book is a great place for anyone interested in milled soap to start. Its recipes are simple (which is a blessing for beginners like me who don’t have a “stash” of oils and additives and can’t afford to buy everything all at once) and easy to follow.

Plus there is an array of interesting recipes, not just girly frou-frou stuff.

I’d recommend it to anyone.

As the title implies, this book only covers hand-milling (rebatching) pre-made soap bases. When my children were younger, this technique was a perfect way to experiment without having to bring lye into the house.

It gives a nice overview section, then offers:
Milk Soap recipes (13)
Misc Soap recipes (38)

That’s a pretty nice amount of recipe ideas for the price!

Just be sure to note: There are no cold process or melt and pour recipes in this book.
